The Time Museum
Museum Services
- If you are seeking
historical information about a clock or watch in your possession,
we recommend that you consult your local librarian for help and/or become
a member of the National Association of Watch
and Clock Collectors. According to our last information they also offer
to do research for non-members for an hourly fee. Another source of information
is the American Clock and Watch Museum (860) 583-6070 who also will do research
on an hourly fee basis.
- For appraisals
, we recommend that you consult the Appraisers Association of America at (212)
889-5404 or the Society of American Appraisers
for a referral.Clock shops often provide appraisal services. The large,
International auction houses such as Christie's
and Sothebys have specialist Clock
& Watch departments for rare and valuable items. It may also be helpful
to consult your local and regional auctioneers for advice on most clocks
and watches. The Time Museum does not provide appraisal services.
- For the repair
of your clock or watch, we recommend you ask your local clock shop or jeweler
for advice. You can also contact the sources listed above under historical
informaion and appraisals.
- Photography. Stock photographs
are available for non-exclusive one-time rights on a fee basis. Please
email or FAX requests to the museum at (815) 873-1420.
